Chad A.Leat is a retired high-profile financial professional who spent decades with
Citigroup and other firms on Wall Street. He’s also a Tonganoxie, Kansas, native
who attended the University of Kansas in his youth to become the first member
of his family to earn a college degree. Since entering semi-retirement, he’s
offered extensive support to the University of Kansas. In 2018, for example, he
donated $1M to fund a scholarship for the LGBTQ student community at the school.
“When I decided to establish a scholarship
to reward not only students with need, but also students that showed leadership
and affiliation with the LGBT community on campus, I did it because I had a
wonderful career here as a student at KU,” said Chad Leat.
